About the Man Behind the Grove

Act 1 — The First 18

From as far back as I can remember, I felt like I was on the outside of every circle I was in. Not fully part of the world around me. I sensed things others didn't want to talk about. There was always a quiet knowing inside me that more existed — connection, wisdom, depth — just beneath the surface of what we were taught to accept. That awareness never left me.

Eighteen years of living and learning. No uniform yet. Just a kid who already knew things had patterns beneath the surface — and couldn't stop looking for them.

Act 2 — The Second 18

Then came service. Twelve years active duty. Seven years contracting for the Government. Eighteen years total of structure, precision, and a very specific kind of attention.

Aircraft systems don't lie. They speak in symptoms and sequences. You learn to find the root cause underneath the surface noise — before it becomes a catastrophe. I gave everything to those years. But something deeper within me remained, waiting.

I have always been in service to something. The uniform changed. The mission didn't.

Act 3 — Now Here

Eventually, the pull to return to that deeper truth became impossible to ignore. Not all at once — slowly, piece by piece. Signs I wasn't looking for. Signs I probably wasn't ready to see. Life has a way of getting louder when you're not listening. Then one day it stops whispering entirely.

Like — hey dude. Wake up. What the f*** are you doing?!

The Blackthorn Grove was born from this reawakening. Not as a brand — as a remembering. Still in service. Just finally to the right thing.

I am a pattern finder. I am a balance keeper. I am a negotiator. I am a storyteller. I am an explorer, a wanderer, a ponderer.

This is the work. It always has been.
